Little Things to be Thankful for

Little Things to be Thankful for

It truly is the little things:

I can’t pretend that life is back to normal. And even as things are opening up, we are still in uncharted waters. And no one wanted it to be this way. So as I stress about what my senior year of college, I have to stop and pause. Which I have been doing a lot lately. However, it has given me a moment to reflect and be thankful for the little things…

Free time to be able to read

  • I am the queen of buying books and books because they look so interesting, and then I can never get around to reading them. That is why I set a New Year’s Resolution to read 7 books in 2020.

Fresh air

  • Never underestimate the power of fresh air and vitamin D.

Summer Nights Sleeping with my window open

  • It is so funny to TX friends and they don’t have this luxury. I remember so clearly being 10 years old laying in bed with my curtains blowing in the crisp breeze from outside. I seriously love Colorado summers and being able to sometimes let nature act as an AC.

Zoom

  • Who knew how useful Zoom could be? Truly. I have done it all with Zoom and I think it’s something I will continue to use. I have had class over Zoom, had Bible Study over Zoom, done Zoom workouts, used the Share screen feature and watched movies, I’ve had interviews and doctor’s appointments and truly Zoom can do it all. So I am thankful for a platform that is so useful and multifunctional.

Childlike Faith

  • Being the oldest, I have been able to watch my siblings grow up and it truly is a blessing. I am 10 years older than my little brother and that age gap is one of the best things. I am his second mom and as I get older, it is nice to see him and be reminded of what I was like at that age. One of my favorite things is that Carson will accidentally call me mom instead of Megan and it truly makes me smile every time. Watching Carson, I am reminded that Jesus told us to have childlike faith and how much excitement comes from every new thing. Kids haven’t been tainted and destroyed by our world. And I am grateful to remember to live with a childlike faith.

Free Time to Reconnect

  • I have not been home for this long since high school. Normally my summers go by so fast or in the case of last summer, I was in Europe for half the summer. So, being home, I am able to see people I love and reconnect with family and friends that I don’t get to see as often. It is truly such a blessing.

Memories

  • I am a huge memory person. I want every picture printed and I want every story and memory I have to be written down. But, being home, I have been able to print pictures and find memories around my room and I have loved to relive some of my favorite moments.

Picnics

  • Once again, get outside! As a kid, we would go to a fun big park and have picnics. And even now, I love sitting in the shade and just enjoying your food outside.

The list could go on and on about the little things that make life worth living. I just wanted to share the little things that have made me smile recently. I would love for you to comment and tell me what little things have you been thankful for recently?

xo,

Megan
