What to Expect Working in Lingerie
A few summers ago, I wanted to work at Nordstrom. Little did I know that I was going to work in the department that scared me the most. Lingerie. When I interviewed and found out this was the position I was applying for, I was terrified and was dead set on not taking the job. I thought to myself, “if I get this job, I am not going to take it. I will apply at the Nordstrom farther away from my house because I can’t do it.
Then I decided that it might be okay. So, I googled. And googled and wanted to know someone else had been as terrified as me and I wanted guidance. But I could not find anything. So I decided I would share. Here is my experience working at Nordstrom.
what to expect working in Nordstom lingerie:
Every woman, regardless of age and size, is insecure
You will get used to doing bra fittings
It can be empowering to see and work with people of all different shapes, sizes, skin color, and being supported for being yourself.
The grass is always greener, and people always want what they can’t have
Be kind to everyone
Everyone is on a different path/ walk of life and that is okay. Don’t worry about the timeline that society expects you to follow
It’s okay to be vulnerable and open up to strangers. Sometimes they can be the best listener
No matter our differences, we can always find common ground
When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade
It is good to get outside of your normal circle and learn from people
