THE NETHERLANDS : Maastricht, Amsterdam, The Hague,
WEEK ONE ABROAD: Maastricht, Amsterdam, and The Hague
As I write this, I am halfway done with my study abroad program. Even looking back on these pictures, I have grown and experienced so much life in the first few weeks. Trains with wifi are hard to come by, life is going by a mile a minute and I have just not had time to sit and look back because I have been laser focused on the future.
However, here is a picture overload of the first week of studying abroad!
Maastricht—> the Hague—> Delft—> Zaandam—> Amsterdam
When we landed in Amsterdam, we drove down to Maastricht, moved into the dorm and went to get Italian food and wine.
Maastricht: we did a few walking tours, and just explored Maastricht. We found some hidden gems!
First night exploring the city
The Hague: Such a fun place to visit and I would have never made it this city without studying abroad. We of course did a walking tour, and learned about the Netherlands government, which is located in the Hague.
The beach @ the Hague: Dinner by the beach!! I never thought I would go to the beach in the Netherlands!
Delft: We went to the Royal Delft factory and explored, had tea and made our very own delft blue master piece :)
We spent the night in Zaandam in this fun hotel ;) so many memories
We then went to see the typical Dutch experience with wind mills, chocolate, cheese and wooden shoes
Amsterdam: Hands down, my favorite activities were touring the Anne Frank House and doing a river cruise. The Anne Frank House was so humbling and unreal to see in person. I remember reading her novel in middle school and it was crazy to see the history with my own eyes.
“IF YOU GO TO AMSTERDAM, YOU HAVE TO EAT AT THE PANCAKE HOUSE!!! Hands down the best sweet treat I have had abroad!!! ”
boat tour :)
I am so grateful for this experience and have already made the best memories. Here’s to more weeks of weekend travels.
xoxo,
