Austin, TX Weekend Trip + Best Restaurants
Weekend Trip to Austin, TX
Hi friends! Since Waco is only an hour and half away from Austin, I have made a few weekend trips this semester. I went one weekend for a friend’s birthday and to hang out, and then I also went for a Baylor football game. I have eaten at some delicious restaurants and I wanted to share my weekend adventures :)
September 25, 2020:
We started the afternoon by walking around Downtown Austin and then we went and got ready for dinner.
Such a fun group of friends :)
North Italia:
The most delicious Italian food! I highly recommend the Aperol Spritz and any of the pizza options! We finished our food and went and got a drink on 6th street. It was so fun and somewhere I will for sure go back to in a post COVID world.
SATURDAY
Started off the day by seeing one of my favorite dogs ever!! Sweet Presley boy!
My roommate drove down and met me and we walked around and shopped at the Domain, which is always a good idea :)
We then went to our hotel, which we may or may not have tried to check into the wrong hotel… That’s a story for another time… And then got ready and went and picked up dinner!
Matt El Rancho
THIS FOOD WAS SO GOOD. One of my good friend’s recommend this place to us and it was seriously so good. It was crazy busy when we got there, and we got it to go. They had very good queso, quesadillas, and margaretigas and I would love to go back and eat here again!
We then hung out with Bailey’s cousin, rode around on Lime scooters and got ice cream. We got Amy’s which is an Austin staple.
Enjoy mine and Bailey’s matching pajamas because we are turning into the same person.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2020-
We woke up, got ready and decided to walk around South Congress Street. We wanted brunch and ended up just eating wherever we could sit down first. We ended up walking around and finding some good photo opportunities.
South Congress Cafe
Brunch time! We ate at South Congress Cafe and they had delicious cornbread to start, a good mimosa and some very Southern gravy covered food.
OCTOBER 24, 2020-
Mozart’s Coffee Roasters
Y’all!!! What a fun coffee place! Right on Lake Austin, we stopped here before going to the Baylor vs UT football game. The weather was nice and chilly and we got our warm drinks, (or in my case iced chai, and sat in the car to warm up).
El Arroyo
Another Austin classic. Seriously was so yummy and super cheap for the quality of food. They are known for having a letter board outside of the restaurant and putting some witty sayings on their signs. I got breakfast tacos and the chips and salsa were also so good!
Hope you enjoyed my jumbled post! I just wanted to document all the memories and yummy food!
Until next time friends :)
